PLAY the LIVERPOOL WAY

JOIN with Us - LFC INDONESIA

In May 2011, LFC announced its commitment to an Indonesian partnership that would develop a permanent and sustainable model in the territory, their first outside Europe. The announcement followed three years of research and relationship-building facilitated by the British Chamber of Commerce and resulting in operational pilots, two visits from LFC Ambassador Ian Rush and a recent visit by legend Phil Neal.
Our long-term vison is to raise the standard of domestic football and find Indonesia's next football star. We aim to achieve this via a series of sustained activities:

•    Liverpool FC International Academy Nationwide Junior League
•    Nationwide Talent Scout Contests/Open Trials
•    Nationwide Soccer Schools
•    Regular Soccer Camps
•    Junior Tournaments
•    Elite Academy in Jakarta
•    SEA Invitational Junior Tournament
Evidence of LFC’s commitment to this vision is the arrival of Senior Academy coach Paul Barratt. Paul arrived in Indonesia in July 2011 to lead preparations. Paul is a product of the LFC Academy in Liverpool and was part of the 2006 FA Youth Cup winning team. More recently,  Paul played in Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s International All Stars team at the GBK Stadium in June 2011. Paul also scored the winning goal for Persikota in their 2-1 victory over Persitara in September 2011.  Paul will be joined by another LFC Academy coach in January 2012 and both will stay for at least 12 months.
The role of the LFC Academy coaches will be to recruit and train Indonesian coaches to Liverpool Football Club standard. They will also implement LFC methodology in to our training sessions to ensure that our players achieve their potential. Furthermore, Paul and his assistant will assess the talent in the 8-10 years age group for the Academy. A pan-national LFC-branded league will provide much of the talent pool.
